This case involved a client that failed to file their ONRR – 4054 forms and was fined approximately $800K by the ONRR.  A financial analysis was performed using the client’s tax information which demonstrated that the amount of the fine was not tantamount to the offense.  This would result in an unfair, severe financial hardship for the client.  An original report and a supplemental report was issued for this case, which was ultimately settled for a maximum penalty of $225K dependent upon the client following a prescribed payment plan.
